Meet the Founder

Sheena Jethva

Sheena is the founder of The Stretch Girl, a company focused on healing. She specialises in releasing tension in the body through passive fascial release therapy. Her knowledge of the body and awareness of energy, intention, and spirituality are essential in her work with clients and with Lavenshea. Sheena is a warm and deeply caring person with a passion for helping and connecting with others. If the Universe has brought you to Lavenshea or connected you to Sheena, she believes it was meant to be. Outside of her work, Sheena’s happiest place to be is with her two dogs, Olive and Shea, in the park on a sunny day.

 How it Started

Sheena started making her own wax to use in her healing work through The Stretch Girl. The waxes that had been available didn’t have ingredients that she could trust. Even ones with simple, clean ingredients often contained almond oil and she worried about potential allergic reactions. She did her research, got high quality ingredients, and put her heart into developing something she could proudly use. The wax she made was trustworthy, smelled amazing, and a big hit with her clients – but it was just for her work. 

 In 2019, Sheena’s anxiety was incredibly hight and she developed a severe gut dysbiosis, or imbalance, resulting in constant discomfort and even more anxiety. Knowing the body, she managed to work through the physical problems, but her anxiety still hadn’t been relieved. Along with deeper-rooted emotional work, she also wanted to find natural ways to soothe and comfort herself. 

 The consistent answer she received was Lavender – in the form of Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oil. She began purchasing high-quality lavender products and making a nightly ritual of soaking in the bath. Perhaps it was because she’d begun developing her own wax, but one night she began to wonder about the specific ingredients she was presently soaking in. Turning the (very expensive, very reputable) container around, Sheena was surprised to find lavender last in a rather long list of ingredients. Even worse, it wasn’t listed as an essential oil but specified as a fragrance. She immediately got out and drained her bath, determined not to let her skin – our largest organ – absorb any more. 

Going through the rest of her bathroom drawers, reading the backs of every skin-care product she owned, she realized how much junk and toxicity was in the stuff she was using. She could source some quality epsom salts, but something special was missing. With her experience making her own wax, Sheena decided to try making body butter with the ingredients that she actually wanted and trusted to go on her body. After a number of test runs – too oily, too runny, too thick and unspreadable – with the help of friends and family, she finally got what is now the Whipped BB Body Butter. 

Made first for herself, Sheena finally decided to make it available for other people after enough friends and clients encouraged her to. The core of Lavenshea is a love and care for oneself and others.

Why Crystals?

Sheena believes in crystal energy healing. She chose Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz, and Smoky Quartz to be placed inside each of the jars for their healing and protective properties. 

Amethyst is protective. It may help relieve life stress and improve your vibrational energy. It opens the Crown chakra and connects you to the universe. 

Clear Quartz clears and absorbs negative energy. It improves immunity, clears toxins, and allows for better focus and emotional stability. 

Smoky Quartz is protective and grounding. 

Rose Quartz opens up the heart chakra and amplifies the love you hold for yourself. 

These crystals were intentionally chosen for their focus on emotional and spiritual healing. From its creation, Lavenshea was always meant to soothe on multiple levels: body, mind, and soul. It is gentle and healing for the skin, calming for the mind, and the crystals provide protection and relief to the soul. After the jar is finished, we encourage you to keep these crystals with you on your journey.
